As a child I was a natural adventurist and ran every inch of my families' hundreds of acres of wooded lands barefoot and explored every game trail. I would fall asleep in the woods and wake up with deer or turkeys around me. I longed for wilderness. I had a wild spirit but very little opportunity to develop it as a child; for lack of wild mentors. (Please click photo for enlargement.)
As a child, I: spent time surrounded by wild turkeys at arms length, fed wild rabbits from my hand (one mistook my finger for a carrot; hence my index finger scar from a nearly severed digit), chased fireflies to make mason jar lanterns, wore swimmer's itch, poison ivy, and bee stings like a badge of honor, picked wild cranberries, blueberries and raspberries, rescued injured animals, helped family members process wild game since the age of 3, tracked injured game for family and friends as an elementary shool student and beyond.
I am a Wilderness Survivalist and Adventurer. I am an outdoor writer and photgrapher.
