Angels Among Us Youth Camp
Kellie Nightlinger started Angels Among Us Youth Camp in 2006 for campers that have lost a parent, have been or are in foster care, have been abused, don't know a parent, or have disabilities.

Angels Among Us Youth Camp is an Adventure-Based Youth Leadership Camp. Activities take place outside and some are in the wilderness. The camp is funded by Kellie Nightlinger and a few precious volunteers every year.

Past activities include: cliff diving, native american drumming and dancing, snorkeling shipwrecks, spelunking, kayak-

camping, hiking, traditional archery shooting, atlatl throwing, bushcrafting, .22 target practice, crafts, open-water swimming, water trampoline, jet skiing, visiting zoos, kayak-camping on an island, and fishing.

Upcoming activities include: Agate Collecting, Backpacking Isle Royale National Park and kayak-camping again, The Glass-Bottom Shipwreck Tour.

Angels Among Us Youth Camp is more than a youth camp; it has evolved into a year-round mentoring program. I take students fishing every spring for Suckers via spears, hand nets, and long bow. This years fishing expedition was featured on michiganoutofdoorstv.com.

Other mentoring trips included taking students to: martial arts classes, roller skating, rollerblading, The Pathfinder School LLC, hiking Tahquamenon Falls State Park in the winter, Ice Fishing for Smelt, kayaking across the Straits of Mackinac underneath and parallel to the Mackinac Bridge as I open-water swam.

Three students have lived with me as i have been a temporary guardian. I believe in these students and they believe in me introducing them to new wild adventures every year. I believe the best healer is mother nature.
